Door of the State Library of NSW

After having a cool drink at the Botanical Gardens, they went to the State Library.
Library tours are available on Tuesday, so they missed out. There are some renovations being done at the State Library.
The cafe was closed so they couldn't have lunch at the library. The library is huge, and caters to a very large student population.

Pat & Chris did a tour of the Picasso exhibition at the Art Gallery of NSW on Monday. It was very hot in Sydney.
They had a drink in the Botanical Gardens, and thought that all the office people playing touch footy, and jogging would not be very productive after their lunch breaks!! They hoped that the workers would not suffer heat exhaustion.
RSS feeds
At TAFE Pat is learning another new and interesting communication short cut.
Pat loves keeping up to date with current affairs and has subscribed for feeds from the Sydney Morning Herald and ABC News.

Blogs & Flickr
Hi, Grouho here again.
Pat has been telling me about a couple of things she found out at TAFE.
I think you may be interested!
BLOGs
A Blog is a website that an individual or a group of users can record views, opinions, information, links and photos. Bringing like-minded people together.
A successful Blog must be regularly updated to keep its followers interested.
Pat thinks blogging will become very popular for libraries in the future.
Libraries could utilize this by BLOGGING topics as.
*Genre based reading lists
*Book discussions
*CD & DVD recommendations
*Customer comments,suggestions and complaints
* Promote library activities and services
FLICKR
Flickr is a great website.
Pat found this site easy to navigate. It is easy to transfer photos from Flickr. This is a great tool for sharing and storing images. Images an be added as and when they are taken.
Flickr's database structure means that every image is associated with its creator or owner first, then with any groups or sets it might have been added to, then with any free-text tags that might have been assigned to it, and finally with the electronic metadata that the camera added to the original snapshot.

These are some photos of my family.
The first one is Holly & Sarge. I am also in the shot supervising.
The second one is Me showing Sarge around.
The last one is Sarge with Sean.
Sean has to put sunscreen on Sarges' ears and on his nose. He is very pink and might get sunburnt.
The sunscreen tastes great. I lick it off when no-one is looking.
I get into trouble for showing Sarge how to sun-bake. I like a warm tummy. I enjoy a good stretch out in the midday sun. Holly yells at us and sends me and Sarge inside.
Sarge is very clever. Hehas finished puppy pre-school. Sarge told me he was the best in the class.
He didn't bark or growl at the other dogs or play up. Sarge said he was always good so that he got plenty of pats and treats from the teacher.
Pat and Sean have taught him some tricks. He shakes hands, lays down, rolls over so you can tickle his tummy, he also does commando - that means he crawls on his belly.

Time for a Walk
Today is finally stopped raining.
Sean took Sarge down to the dog park. They meet other dogs there. I stayed home and had a good rest. It's hard work showing a young fella all the things to do in our big yard. Then we hung out with Sean for the afternoon.
When Holly got home she told us about her day at school. She is busy being a teacher.
I'm Seans best friend. Vasha was Holly's best friend. Vasha showed me around the yard, and lived in my room for 11 years.
After dinner, we went for a really long walk, Pat and Chris came to. Sarge sat down a lot. He needs a lot of rests. He only has little legs. Sarge doesn't lift his leg yet. I lift my leg on everything, letterboxes, telegraph poles, plants and if Chris stands still too long .......ha ha. How do dogs learn to lift their legs???
I do wonder. I will let you know when Sarge starts.
Sarge is chewing Pats orchids. So far he has completely wrecked about 4 plants. He thinks it is fun, I join in. It is fun. Sarge gets into trouble when Pat finds out. She hates all the dirt in our room and grumbles while she sweeps it out. He is a naughty boy!!
I have to go. Steve has just come for a visit. He is great fun. Steve lets me sit on the lounge when no one is looking, and he loves scratching my back. He doesn't think I'm a smelly old thing.
Psst..I think Sarge has fleas......

This is Sarge
This will be a good tool for Aussie Bull Dog bloggers to share their funny stories about their Aussie Bull dogs.
My name is Groucho. I am a 12 year old Miniature Schnauzer.
I want to tell you about my new friend Sarge. Sarge has come to live with me.
My other friends who live with me are Sean, Holly, Jock, Chris and Pat. Visitors I see a lot are Steve and Shallini. Shallini is a vet student, she oftens does 'vetty' things to me. I never mind because she is gentle and I enjoy all the attention. Shallini always looks in my mouth and Sean gets into trouble because I need to get my teeth cleaned. I don't want to.
I hate going to the groomer - I have been banned from a couple of places. I don't bite, but I make a hell of a fuss.
My favourite things are singing, eating, going for walks and sneaking into the house and finding a quiet place to hide and sleep. I love eating - Pat makes some great food, and I love all the extra treats I get when some of my friends are trying to show Sarge a new trick. To stop me distracting Sarge while he is learning I get a treat.
